Junior Company visits Bergschenhoek Group
On 16th August 2016, the pupils of the Junior Company project visited the Bergschenhoek Groep B.V. The pupils could see the company from the school but they did not know which products or services the company provides.
Pupils from the Junior Company project visited the Bergschenhoek Group B.V. on Tuesday 16th August. The pupils could see the company from the school but they did not know which products or services the company provides. To help explain exactly what they do, the company has opened an "Experience Centre" for potential clients and on Tuesday, the centre was made fully available to the students of the Wolfert Lyceum.
A presentation was given about the company and both the students and teachers were surprised to hear how large the company was. Bergschenhoek BV has offices both in the Netherlands and abroad. The students were then given a tour during which practice was linked as much as possible to the theory that the students receive in class: from inventory systems to efficient production processes. To finish off, the students were shown various final products, and they had the opportunity to ask questions.
Armed with all the information and a goody bag (many thanks!), the start-ups could get back to formulating their business plans. In a few weeks’ time they can experience for themselves what it is like to start up their own company.
